PARENTS AND CARERS PAGE - Updated 30th March 2008

Easter Break
We hope you all had a good Easter break and that the children (and the adults) didn't eat too much chocolate.

Parents Evening
The parents evening in early March went well and many of you took the opportunity to have a detailed discussion about your child's progress and to get a flavour of "a day in the life of" your child at nursery.    Thank you to those of you who filled in the children's information sheet (sometimes known as a passport).   These are useful for us to keep our records up to date and to also share information between us on yours and your child's preferences and abilities.

If you were unable to make the parents evening, please ask to speak to your child's key worker at any time.   Development records are available at all times for you to look at and to get a flavour of what your child has been up to during their time at nursery.

The Raffle
The Charity Raffle will be drawn on 30th April and tickets will be on sale from week commencing 31st March.    Any donations for the raffle will be gratefully received.  Thank you to those of you who have already donated.

Digging Areas
The digging areas are now completed and have been filled with compost.   The children will shortly be planting seeds and vegetables/herbs in these areas which we will be encouraging them to look after and hopefully use within the food served at the nursery on a "grow your own" basis.    If there are any gardeners out there with some spare seedlings or suggestions on what we could grow easily, contributions would be gratefully received.

Ofsted
Ofsted have not as yet been to inspect us, but we know the inspection is imminent.    The up to date Operational Plan which includes all of the policies and procedures within the nursery is available to look through in the foyer by parents and carers.   We will of course keep you up to date with developments and the result of the inspection when it has taken place.

New Starters
A warm welcome to all the new starters within the nursery.   Many of you have remarked at the number of new children who have joined us.    It is wonderful that the nursery is starting to fill up and this is great news for children, staff, and parents.    Please tell as many people as you can about the nursery as there is still space available for even more new starters.

Staff
The increasing numbers, especially in the baby room, means we will be advertising for a new baby room specialist in the coming weeks.    We will keep you posted on our progress

Staff have been issued with pink T shirts and fleeces as staff uniform which should help to identify them more easily and bring a more professional feel to the nursery.
